Pumping Gas

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass police reigniting its effort to find fuel bandits.
Residents living on Ironwood Drive woke up to a “boom” and their car’s alarm around 2 a.m. on February 15th.

They found their 2014 Chevy Malibu in flames and a nearby Ford pickup truck with two punctures in its fuel tank.

Detectives believe these two are linked to the same suspects, just one of two such fuel thefts in the past month.

“We’ve had other incidents, fuel thefts, typically increase when the fuel prices go up. As of right now, the fuel prices are fairly reasonable, so we’ve seen a decline in that recently,” Lieutenant Todd Moran, said.

The fire destroyed the Malibu.
The owners said there have been some problems in their neighborhood and are hoping there’s an end to it soon.

The case number is 03-07-17.

If you have any information on any fuel theft suspects in this crime, you can call or text Crime Stoppers at 1-800-850-0580.
