A Rocky Mount woman was arrested Tuesday on larceny charges following an investigation by managers of the business where she worked.
Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said Carol Ann Lawrence, 44, of Rocky Mount, was arrested at 6:36 p.m. at her house . Lewis said the arrest came after police received a report Monday of larceny by an employee at the Fuel Doc #2 at 1108 Cokey Road.
Lewis said when officers arrived at the business they made contact with management, who told them they had been conducting an investigation into the case. Lewis said the investigation led the store’s management to suspect Lawrence of taking $1,000 in cash and other items from the store, leading to a warrant being issued for her arrest.
Lawrence made her first court appearance Wednesday in N.C. District Court of Edgecombe County.
